Our garden

At Brainy Bugs we have our very own vegetable garden; our children enjoy planting seeds, watching them grow, and eventually harvesting their own produce.

We believe that by allowing children to be involved in the planting, caring, and harvesting of the garden helps them to develop an understanding of the world around them and how some of their food gets from the ground to their plates!

The children learn responsibility and gain pride when they watch their plants grow, which we feel ultimately improves self-esteem. We always try to encourage enthusiasm for gardening by appealing to a child’s senses, by allowing them to see the stages of growth, touch the leaves and dig the dirt and taste what they’ve harvested.
